I have very very thin nails and was getting tired of going to the salon every three weeks ( sometimes if I got a good gel manicure, I could actually go 4 weeks). It got too expensive and , who has the time?? So I invested in my own stuff.
I bought this light and a base/topcoat and color changing polish ( different brands, which was going against the reviews that advised keeping the same brand of polish and top/base coats). I have used it three times so far.( Being able to fix one nail when I wanted to, instead of going to the salon at $5 a pop has paid for itself already!) I researched lights and decided on this one beacuse #1, it has an automatic on/off when you put your hand under it.AND a 30/60 second timer #2 It has no base, so I dont have to clean inside of it, #3. It is compatible with UV and LED polish ( which I truly don’t understand the difference, so I figured I had better get one that does both!)
I think the key to doing this at home is to use very little polish each coat. This includes the base coat and top coat. I do three coats of polish because I want them really hard. Also a tip is to not get the polish or base/top coats on your cuticles ( this is why the salons always focus on this). I would also invest in the wooden sticks so you can wipe off any excess as you polish. I may also cut the brush, like they do at the salons, so that the brush is shorter and tighter, making it wasier to ‘stay within the lines’ as I polish.
I bought the color changing polish as it adds some spice to my day a bit. FYI: They are not always one color or the other, though, and I have read other feedback saying they look splotchy when you are neither hot or cold. I didn’t find that to be true with this polish. If you have longer nails that come out over your fingers, know that the tips will change with the cold first. I think that looks cool, too, though. Some people may not. Hope this feedback helps all you do-it-yourself-ers, like me!

We had bought this for my daughter who uses it very often. She cannot go a week without using it for her beautiful nails. As things go, one day this Nail Lamp stopped working. She was heart broken and wanted to buy a new one instantaneously. As the sane dad, I said let me check if it is still under warranty. Again, as things go, the warranty had just expired. Nonetheless, I contacted the manufacturers customer service, and after sending them a video of the broken lamp, they sent us a replacement FREE OF CHARGE! Needless to say, my daughter is ecstatic!! I like to wait until I’ve used something several times before I write a review. I’ve used this SUNUV SUN9C 24W LED lamp about a dozen times, so I’m ready to share my experiences. (And yes, I paid full price for my lamp.)
From the reviews, I was seeing that some people thought it was great, others where they said the UV didn’t dry their polishes. I had just gotten a polish that was 2 minutes LED cure and 4 minutes LED cure – yikes! I’ve used it in my “real” LED/UV lamp (LEDs and a UV bulb too), so I know it really takes me 2 minutes to cure that polish, and I figured that would make an excellent test for this lamp.
Guess what — the gel cured in 1.5 minutes — faster than my 48w UV/LED lamp!
I’ve tried it with a lot of my various brands of polish — Gelish, Syster, Gelaze, Orly, IBD — all cured in 30 seconds. I tried my builder gels — clear, black and white — and they all worked fine as well Woo hoo!
I also like that the lamp has no bottom plate, and here’s why: I do nail art on full-coverage nails, and I have some nail drying stands. The lamp is a little too low to put in very many of the stands — I can only manage about four at a time. But…I can stack a book on either side, put the lamp on the edge of each of the books and now I have more height clearance. I can fit 10 nail stands at a time — and that cuts WAY down on the time for my nail art.
Oh, and when I do my nails on my hand — plenty of room to do all 5 at once, and my hands are a little on the large size.
I was crossing my fingers because of some of the reviews, but I am glad I bought it. It really does work for both LED and UV, it’s fast and lightweight — very portable. Two thumbs up. 🙂
Update: Still going strong after a year! Very happy with my purchase.

I love this UV/LED light! It works great and the drying time for gel polishes is amazing. I own a couple of these and never have had an issue with them. The bottom does remove so you can dry your tootsies. When putting on the gel top coat, I am able to put both hands in and save some time. Excellent dryer
