I have very very thin nails and was getting tired of going to the salon every three weeks ( sometimes if I got a good gel manicure, I could actually go 4 weeks). It got too expensive and , who has the time?? So I invested in my own stuff.

I bought this light and a base/topcoat and color changing polish ( different brands, which was going against the reviews that advised keeping the same brand of polish and top/base coats). I have used it three times so far.( Being able to fix one nail when I wanted to, instead of going to the salon at $5 a pop has paid for itself already!) I researched lights and decided on this one beacuse #1, it has an automatic on/off when you put your hand under it.AND a 30/60 second timer #2 It has no base, so I dont have to clean inside of it, #3. It is compatible with UV and LED polish ( which I truly don’t understand the difference, so I figured I had better get one that does both!)

I think the key to doing this at home is to use very little polish each coat. This includes the base coat and top coat. I do three coats of polish because I want them really hard. Also a tip is to not get the polish or base/top coats on your cuticles ( this is why the salons always focus on this). I would also invest in the wooden sticks so you can wipe off any excess as you polish. I may also cut the brush, like they do at the salons, so that the brush is shorter and tighter, making it wasier to ‘stay within the lines’ as I polish.

I bought the color changing polish as it adds some spice to my day a bit. FYI: They are not always one color or the other, though, and I have read other feedback saying they look splotchy when you are neither hot or cold. I didn’t find that to be true with this polish. If you have longer nails that come out over your fingers, know that the tips will change with the cold first. I think that looks cool, too, though. Some people may not. Hope this feedback helps all you do-it-yourself-ers, like me!

Love this UV light for my nails

Doing nails at home and this is really nice purchase. I have used it for 3 months and it still works great for gel polish. Worth it 100%!

Did the job no problems

This is a great nail light. I ordered it and ended up not needing and returned it. I was impressed with the heat level and nice look and color of the light. I was sad it did not work for me but would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to purchase one.

Had this uv light for 3 years now. I would buy this again in a heartbeat!!
